fall is just around the corner...

took the opportunity to create origami and visit cats at a local social venue .... they help socialize rescue cats and provide learning and social opportunities for people at the same time.

Janet and I are once again participating in the community band, playing our French Horns, her in first chair and me in second (she's so much better than I am!)  and the artistic director of the ballet I was in last holiday season asked me to reprise my role as grandmother, so I'll start rehearsals for that soon too!

[a crocheted ornament that I created of my character]

had the opportunity to see the premier of a new work, and  meet the creator! our friends Aaron and Cindy were playing in Another Roll of the Dice, and Mark Saltzman attended the opening weekend. we had a few minutes to chat before the show, and he gave me vacation suggestions for my upcoming birthday trip to the southland (LA).  I love our vibrant, close-knit theatre community!!

near the end of the month I went on a cruise on the Potomac, the presidential yacht, and this time there was an Elvis impersonator on board for entertainment!

He's a local truck driver who plays The King on the side. He puts on quite a show and keeps his lady guests entertained.

it was a gorgeous day on the bay, and perfect for a cruise and some rock and roll.
