ready to fall into Fall

... and for the summer heat to end!  the garden seems to love it however, so I don't complain too much.

sunflowers; jalapenos

gardenias! <3

okra :-)

T. Jefferson artichokes and wildflowers!

and then on the 2nd day of the month, skies were overcast, but the morning glories were showing off how much progress they have made since they were planted in April!

rehearsals for Pride & Prejudice ended and performances started.  two of my bay area theatre friends surprised me by coming to two of my Sunday matinees.  Barbara came all the way from Monterey, where she had moved a few years ago.  luckily she has family in the area, so she made a road trip out of it.  Myra had moved up this way a few years ago, so she didn't have to drive as far, but it was wonderful to see them both after so long!  and they both thoroughly enjoyed our production.  after everything was wrapped, I had put in over 115 hours on the production, which will net the theatre company a tidy little donation from my employer.  I love it that they support not only science and education but also the Arts!  and the most wonderful feeling is when your cast mates let you know you are appreciated.  our Lizzie even complimented me, saying I was the MVP since I was so helpful with costume quick changes in Act One, even though I don't step on stage until Act Two (I could have been a diva and only arrived in time for my part - but I didn't!)

the restaurant where we had our anniversary dinner was featured in a three part documentary about the local farm to fork restaurants in the area!  it was wonderful to hear about how all the chefs grew up and what brought them to the foods they were cooking now.
