transitions

no gloom this june... very busy with packing for the big move next month, and planning for changes at work too, based on the move away from the headquarters site.  that's right, at the end of last month I was able to find a house in Rancho Cordova, met (virtually) with the owner, and signed a lease in just three days!  I'm excited and terrified all at once.

watched the third of three famous spring horses races, which was uneventful in that there wasn't a three time winner, but eventful in that there was scandal among the training set.  why can't these people be honorable?!  on the next day I made a last minute decision to check out a used car I found on an online site, and caught a rideshare to the dealer where it was being held.  after a test drive and about four hours of paperwork, waiting, and paperwork, I drove away in my "new" 2015 Chevy Malibu!  Such a change from my beloved Baby Bug, but she no longer passes her smog, and she has served us well for over 23 years, so it's about time to turn her out to pasture.  I donated her to a local charity that takes auto donations.

when not packing I took a few opportunities for entertainment.  I went to see live music at our favorite small theatre downtown.  we had a work virtual event with Yo Yo Ma of all people! He played music and talked of his personal history, and gave a very inspirational message to all who attended.  my favorite KJ was back live and hosting karaoke at a new place in Los Gatos.  I went for dinner and sang one song, as the rotation was quite long!  it was good to be singing again!!
