summer is in the air
we had some early blistering heat, which of course made packing for the big move a little on the miserable side.
Craig and I saw the original "Top Gun" on our honeymoon 36 years ago. we thought it was cool that the sequel came out in time for our remarriage, so we went to see it in the theater, just like the first time.
for the first time in a lot of years I cooked a fathers day meal! Craig got to cook the ribs on his grill, but I made some really great sides ... grilled baby peppers, Lemony White Beans with Anchovies and Parmesan, Macaroni Salad with Lemon and Herbs, and Smashed Pickle Salad (with Wicked Pickles)! all the recipes were from the NY Times, in honor of my dad, who was born in NYC.
the rest of the month was filled with packing. I had to cover for some vacationing admins, so I had to work full time without taking any time off to devote fully to the effort.
